There are avoidable losses and negative experiences that we bring upon ourselves because we think the matter is not worth praying about. Many of us live our lives as though God is only the Father of our spiritual lives. When it comes to matters that are non-spiritual, we just rely on logic and sense. This is very wrong.
I usually tell our folks that we must always remember that the gifts received in the Spirit are not just for the edification of others, they are for our edification too. That means in prayers, we can actually receive word of knowledge, wisdom, and prophecies concerning our lives. And this isn’t just about spiritual issues, but about every area of our lives.
I have always had issues with the thinking that people don’t have to pray when making a choice of who to marry. I believe that’s very misleading. There’s only how far the senses go. The person can tick all the boxes yet be having an ulterior motive. Some years ago I heard the story of a Muslim man who was so interested in a fervent Christian sister, that he actually came to church and joined the workforce. Spiritually, he ticked all the boxes. Everyone admired his fervency in Spiritual things, but it was all just to get that sister. And it worked. He played this game for four solid years and he eventually married the sister. And after the sister became pregnant for him, he brought out his Qur’an from where he kept it, and revealed his identity. The sister became lost. But what if she had prayed?
So please sir, whilst scriptures have already given us guidelines to direct our desires in choosing someone to marry, PRAY. Pray well about it.
Solomon rightly said:
Proverbs 3:5-6 KJVS
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
[6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.Of course, you shouldn’t just wait expecting God to show you who he/she is, but when you find the woman or you are approached by the man, please pray. In prayers, desires are revealed. You will see into the future. By the gift of the word of knowledge, you can receive information about that person that is beyond your senses.
Nothing is too insignificant to pray about.
You are seeking admission?
Read well and pray.
In fact, pray about whatever choice of institution you want to go to. Yes, pray about it.
You are a student?
Read well for your exams, and when you’re done. PRAY!
You’ve done what’s possible. Prayer will handle anything that will seek to interfere.
You are a businessman?
Be diligent with your business and pray!
It’s okay to pray when you have a contract submitted.
It’s not insignificant.
You are an employee?
Do your job well, and pray!
There’s such a thing called the favour of God.
Get God involved.
Nothing is too insignificant to pray about.
Whilst the emphasis of the epistles is on praying for others, and this surely must be the emphasis of the prayer life of the believer, we must not think that that means we should not pray about things which concern us.
Paul did pray to be free from prison. It wasn’t a spiritual prison. We know that the church prayed for Peter to freed from prison too.
Jesus prayed to choose his Apostles.
The apostles prayed to choose the replacement for Judas.
We shouldn’t box God out of our decisions.
Sometimes, feasibility studies and logical reasonings fail. But prayer never fails.
So today, concerning that matter
Have you prayed about it?
Blessed.

Never box God out of your decisions. This is timely🙌🏽
