Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
The Gospel is the Message of Christ. It is the Message of the Bible. The word ‘gospel’ means “Good news”. Glad tidings. Solomon describes good news.
Proverbs25:25 As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.Jesus taught and preached the Gospel (Good news).
Matthew 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
Matthew 9:35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. He commanded His Disciples (The Church) to preach the same.
Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
Peter and John did.
Acts8:25 And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.
Paul and Barnabas did. Acts 14:6 They were ware of it, and fled unto Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the region that lieth round about: 7- And there they preached the gospel. 21 -And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch.Paul was committed to it.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
He calls it the Good news of Christ. God had “preached” the same to Abraham.
Galatians 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
Why would the message be called Good news? Is it about salary increase? Of gifts of houses, cars or property? Physical and temporal happiness and comfort?
For the news to be good it has to be relevant to the hearers’ condition.
Since this news is for ALL creatures, it must have a SINGULAR application and relevance to humanity. Not everyone is poor and in need of a financial raise. Not all need physical therapy for sickness. Not all have common physical conditions requiring the same “news”.
For this message to be for all, it has to affect what is an “All “condition.
Romans 3:19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. The whole world is guilty before God. So the law said Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; All (the whole of humanity) is found in sin and fallen short of God’s glory.
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Adams sin has been passed upon all. All who are sinners in Adam. By Moses law .Sin is the common identity of man. Not poverty. Not sickness. Not illiteracy. Not Financial bondage. For sinners are rich. Sinners are healthy. Sinners are literate. Sinners are financially sound.
But sinners are far from God. Sinners are estranged from God. Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.Sinners are enemies of God. Just as Adam in the garden, sinners are cast out of God’s presence.
By the pattern of Adam’s transgression a man will thus stand guilty and without a right before God. Hence the Gospel (Good news) is described with certain well-defined adjectives.
Acts20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.It is called the Good news of the grace of God. It will announce God’s grace. Grace is the gift of God -freely given without conditions.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvationThe message is a Person. This person is the Gift of God. Romans 10:15 …, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things.
Ephesians 6:15 echoes this. The message is Peace. Peace is a person. Ephesians 2:14 For he is our peace.Romans 1:9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son.The Christ is the Son. God gave Him to us, He is grace to us.
This is our peace. Hence the Gospel is the News of Jesus Christ. How He affects sinful humanity. We must come into the fullness of the knowledge of the Gospel. We shall be looking at the Facts, Charter, Trust, Ministry and Thrust of this news as we study!Paul helps us shed light on this.
1 Corinthians 15:1- Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
The Gospel was preached in a promissory way in the four Gospels, fully unveiled and preached in the epistles.
The Facts of the Gospel will be woven around certain events•
The Incarnation of God, The Word, who is called The Son. God identifies with humanity. Isaiah says “God with Us”- Isaiah 7:14• His Humanity- Explained in the 4 gospels. He was born, ate food as man, slept as man. For God never sleeps (Psalms 121: 3-4).

He was Killed. Crucified.• He was buried.• He Rose from the Dead.In these Events are the Facts that have CHANGED humanity forever and irreversibly!
